Dr. Steve Gittings is the Science Coordinator at NOAA Office of National Marine Sanctuaries. He works in the lionfish community with his Lionfish Trap that he invented. Dr. Gittings has a Ph.D. in Oceanography and has a wealth of knowledge when it comes to marine conservation.
About Dr. Gittings: Experienced science coordinator and resource manager, having worked in marine protected areas and conservation science since 1980. And an occasional voiceover artist! Skilled in Conservation Science, Natural Resource Management, Environmental Protection, Environmental Education, and Marine Biology. Expert scientific diver with experience in saturation diving, ROV, and submersible use. MS and Ph.D. degrees in Biological Oceanography from Texas A&M University. Board member for Central Caribbean Marine Institute.
